St. Vincent's 2001 Parish Visitation
From the Pastor's Desk	Our Parish Visitation, scheduled from October 15^th to November 19^th, is one way in which your priests try to fulfill the spirit of the Church law exhorting pastors to "visit their families, sharing in their cares and anxieties and, in a special way, their sorrows, comforting them in the Lord" (Code of Canon Law, § 529). This year, in our two-year cycle, we visit the "southern" portion of the parish. Families not scheduled for a visit this year may request one. The visiting schedule follows below.
Verification Forms	In the Parish Visitation Mailing each family receives a Verification Form detailing the family record as it appears in our parish computer. Please check this form for accuracy, and supply any missing information. Verify the dates of birth (month, day and year), the schools attended and the years of graduation from high school; accurate information greatly simplifies our annual reports and our pastoral planning. Those scheduled for a visit this year may give the completed Verification Form to the priest at that time. Otherwise, return it in an envelope via the collection basket or the Pastor's Church vestibule mailbox.
Block Collection	The Block Collection is a major source of the income necessary for the work of the parish. Please be as generous as your means allow, and use the envelope enclosed in the Parish Visitation Mailing; either drop it in the collection basket or give it to the visiting priest.
Visiting Schedule	All streets in the parish are listed in the visiting schedule below, with a notation for those to be visited next year. In reading the schedule, please note that "North," "South," "East" and "West" are considered part of the street name: e.g. "West Elizabeth" appears under "W," and "North 2nd Street Pike" appears under "N." Normally visiting takes place in the afternoon, beginning shortly after noon; however, a funeral, a sick call, etc. may change visiting times. If unforeseen circumstances prohibit a priest from visiting on a given day, he will attempt to make those visits that week.
